Pathways Elementary, Middle and High Schools celebrated a record number of students who have achieved perfect attendance for the entire first quarter of the 2019-20 school year.

A total of 26 students at Pathways accomplished this feat, an all-time high in the school’s history.  Parents and students were invited to attend an awards ceremony where students were presented with certificates and trophies. The trophies were designed and created by Pathways’ Registrar Sarah Kunzi, using the school’s 3D printer.

“We are incredibly proud of these students and their highly commendable achievement of earning perfect attendance,” praised Director of Alternative Education and Pathways Principal Richard Wiley. “It goes to show what great effort on the part of students and staff can achieve.”

Mr. Wiley encouraged all students to work hard until year’s end to achieve perfect attendance in the future, citing the many benefits that come with doing so, including both work and life success following graduation.

“Pathways students and staff truly deserve to celebrate this great early success,” said Associate Superintendent Kyle Lindberg.  “I truly believe this is only the first of many more successes to come,” he added.

Pathways plans to continue honoring future cohorts of students who earn perfect attendance this year by hosting another awards ceremony later in the year to include a pizza party for all students being honored and their parents.

“Nye County School District is poised to show great success county-wide,” stated Superintendent Dale Norton, “and successes such as these students earning perfect attendance in the first quarter is a great leading indicator of more positive things to come.”
