Public Comment
Public comment is offered at the beginning and end of each meeting. It is also accepted via email prior to and during the meeting. Emailed comments are read aloud during the public comment items on the agenda, and all rules and time limitations for emailed public comment apply.
Public comments can be emailed to publiccomment@nyeschools.org and must include:
The author's first and last name (Anonymous messages cannot be read aloud.)
The author's phone number (This will NOT be read with the comment.)
The date of the meeting for which the comment is intended and when: first or second public comment agenda item.
Public comment at the beginning of the meeting must be related to a specific item on the agenda.
Public comment at the end of the meeting is open to any topic that applies to the school district.
General Rules for Public Comment
Matters raised during public comment cannot be deliberated or acted upon until properly placed on a future agenda. A time limit of three minutes per person, or five minutes for the spokesperson for a group to avoid repetition will be imposed. Although this Board does not restrict comments based on viewpoint, comments will be prohibited if the content is irrelevant to the Board, repetitious, offensive, inflammatory, irrational, deemed a personal attack, or interferes with the rights of other speakers. Comments will be monitored by the Board President.
