Nye County School District (NCSD) announces today the launch of a controlled pilot program with MagicSchool.ai, the nation's leading educator-focused artificial intelligence platform.
NCSD is taking a proactive approach to building AI literacy while ensuring strict data privacy and student safety.
Since public AI models emerged in late 2022, district leadership has evaluated technology's evolving role in K-12 education. NCSD is introducing AI tools in a deliberate rollout designed to support educators and empower students.
Implementation Timeline
September 14, 2026: Teacher pilot rollout begins, providing educators access to administrative and instructional planning tools through the end of the school year.
Late September 2026: Professional development (PD) workshops for teachers to explore tools, establish safety protocols, and build customized student learning environments.
November 1, 2026: Student access opens through MagicStudent, enabling teacher-guided classroom activities. Note: Students cannot access MagicSchool without a teacher classroom code.
February 2027: District leadership will review teacher and student use of MagicSchool and survey teachers regarding their experiences, pros vs. cons, and student use. This evaluation will be used to determine whether or not we continue to allow student access.

"MagicSchool allows our educators to introduce AI constructively while keeping human relationships, ethical habits, and strong instruction at the heart of learning."

"MagicSchool gives our teachers the transparency, administrative control, and privacy protections required to bring AI into classrooms safely."
